This is no April Fools joke, you did in-fact read the title correctly. Samsung will be shipping their 28-inch 10-bit 4K Ultra HD monitor this month for $700 (UD590). Previously, you had to spend well over $1,000 to own a 10-bit 4K monitor.
Samsung Ultra HDTV’s Arrive This Month

Samsung has officially announced availability for their 2014 Ultra HDTV lineup at a press conference held in the Guggenheim Museum in New York City (What is Ultra HD?). The company will offer something for everyone, including both curved and flat versions of their Ultra HDTV’s and Full HDTV’s in a variety of screen sizes. The TV’s will start shipping in the United States and Europe at the end of this month through various retailers. Read more to see the lineup.

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) validates this recommendation with research from two studies: Consumer Perspective on Ultra HDTV (quantitative) and Consumer Perceptions of Ultra HDTV Technology at Retail (qualitative).
